MCLISH ALUMNI
It is time to get the party started! Alumni events-- 2003 style-- are listed below.
- June 6 (Friday) 7:00 p.m. McLish gym---women's basketball at 7 followed by the men's game at 8:15. Admission is one dollar and kids under 12 are admitted free. The Sawyers are hosting the event, even though they haven't been informed of that yet! For more info, contact Lora Sawyer Trimmer at 580-436-4952. I tried to talk Todd into creating some of his Martha Stewart bake sale items to sell at the concession stand, but he says that he won't, so we will just have to be satisfied with the entertainment. Plenty of that! There will be also be a free shot contest at the ballgames. SOMEONE has been practicing and it is not anyone that is working on the banquet! Unless Todd is keeping a secret from Beth and myself! Following the ballgame, the high school will be open. Bring your yearbooks, pictures, etc. The CD player will be blasting out "oldies, but goodies" and much time will be spent reminiscing about gossip items from high school. Right, Beth? This night is very laid back and so much fun!
- June 7 (Saturday) 2:00-4:00 The traditional Open House at McLish School will be hosted by Jerry Winters and Linda Hooper. Once again, they aren't aware of the hosting thing, but they will eagerly say yes, I am sure. I have too much on them for them to turn us down!
- June 7 (Saturday) This is a new section. Well, at least the location is! We are having this year's banquet at the Elks' Lodge in Ada. Todd says that the facility is wonderful with a really spectacular view. This is a time for fellowship and fun. No one knows exactly what we will talk about during the banquet, but if you aren't there, Todd will probably talk about you, or even worse, you might be volunteered to do some work on the next banquet. Only kidding! See attached form for further details and directives. Feel free to dress in semiformal, casual, formal, etc. Visitation: 4:30 p.m. Dinner: 6:00 p.m. Todd's phone number is 580/332-4132. Please call and bug him. He just eats this up and looks forward to us hassling him as much as possible. Not a problem! His a-mail address is toddjoy@adacomp.net
Another cool thing that we will do is to have an alumni roll call. Once again, you have to see this to believe this. We continually surprise ourselves! No one has to stand and speak into the microphone but us. Todd insists that he should read the most names and he may wear a microphone like Garth Brooks wears! You all know how he is. Beth and I will be in the background pronouncing names for him because he doesn't see as well as he used to...hahaha!**By the way, I am Susan McElroy Underwood. If you need to talk to an answering machine, call me. You'll never catch me at home, but you can try or you can e-mail me at twoody@tds.net.
Please indicate the following info on your reservation form:
1) If your invitation was forwarded due to a change of address. Speaking of that, if you will have a new "911" address, let us know. Let us know any changes even if you are not attending.
2) If you are aware of any deaths among former students or teachers.
3) If there are alumni or teachers you would like to see honored in the future.
We need to be updating information continually and appreciate your help. We hope that the activities are enjoyable and that many of your classmates will attend. Your presence will add much. We know that visiting and reminiscing are the highlights of this weekend of events. Everyone please plan to attend!Directions: Elks' Lodge, 3850 Arlington, Ada, OK (this location is east of Ada on Highway One....east of Valley View Hospital on the north side of Hiway One)
