Stewart Forced To Back Off; I Will Not

Tony Stewart was called into the NASCAR hauler this morning, and told he would toe the party line or find someplace else to race.
This after Smoke accused NASCAR of cheating by throwing caution flags to bunch the field back up and help get the outcome of the race that they want on his radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio on Tuesday.
The #20 team was not allowed to unload their race car until Stewart met with series officials, after which, Stewart backed off his comments in the media center.
Well, Tony, you were right, and I will say it right here and dare NASCAR to do anything about it: They cheat. They admitted as much by their harsh treatment of you. They're scared to death the truth will come out and hurt their pocketbooks.
Television cameras covering every inch of the track can't find the debris that race officials claim is out there. The TV cameras can't even catch anybody stopping to pick up the debris under caution. So the debris doesn't exist. Series officials pull this stunt several times each week, and they got called on it. To protect themselves, they made Stewart "take back" what he'd said earlier in the week.
In addition, NASCAR has now shown that they have complete control of what is said on Sirius radio channels.
They don't control what's said here on this site. |

Good Ol' Boys In Milledgeville

I've just learned that the Baldwin County, Georgia, sheriff's department's sunk to new lows. Hard to believe, I know.
There's a woman in Milledgeville who divorced. Her ex-husband has continually harrassed, threatened and stalked her. She's complained to the sheriff's office, she's had meetings with the solicitor in Baldwin county. But this man continues to walk around free, even with all the drugs he does and deals. And she's got a restraining order against him. Ain't that fun?
The ex-husband's family contacted the sheriff's department and told them quite a story about the woman. So the sheriff's office contacted the woman.
These dumbasses has the nerve to tell this woman that if they arrest her ex-husband for stalking her, they're going to arrest her, too.
How's that for protection, folks? Your tax dollars at work in Baldwin County, Georgia. If your ex stalks you, threatens you and gives you crap in general, you get to go to jail in order to have him arrested.
Here's hoping the Georgia Bureau of Investigation gets on Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee like white on rice and finally runs that corrupt SOB out of office.
Baldwin County voters... for godsake, vote for someone else... unless you like having a drug runner for sheriff. |

Middle Georgia NBC Gone TFN

For fans of sports and other NBC programming in central Georgia, you're
pretty much out of luck. The local NBC affiliate, WMGT, channel 41, in
Macon, has a blown klystron (power amp tube) in their transmitter.
The digital, WMGT-DT, Channel 40, is alive and well, but incredibly low powered still.
Don't look for them to be on the air on Sunday in time for the NASCAR
race, either. A replacement tube is coming from Louisiana, but there's
a lot of question about when it will arrive.
Welcome to small town America, where the television stations are operated as hobbies, with little to no professionalism. |

Can't Tell Blood From Paint?

This week, we received a call in our office from a man who said one of our co-workers had rented a condo from him at the beach over the weekend. He said he'd gone in and found "blood all over the place," and that he had "called the cops."
I knew they'd rented the condo for the weekend, and my immediate concern was my co-worker's safety, so I called their cell phone. No answer. This isn't good. I'm concerned at this point.
I decided to call the guy back and see what he really meant by "blood all over the place" and whatever other detail I could get from him. As I picked up the phone to call him, my co-worker calls me back. Turns out they'd just missed my call.
I explained the situation, they called the guy back and found out that he had the wrong unit in the first place, and in the second place, there was no blood, just some paint.
But for a few minutes there, this moron had several us in the office worried that our co-worker had met an untimely end. What an idiot. |

Elliott Sadler, driver of the #38 Ford in the Nextel Cup Series, sustained only minor injuries on Friday evening after a fall from a stage in Uptown Charlotte during the broadcast of the television program “Trackside Live” broadcast on The Speed Channel. After rain showers earlier in the evening, Sadler slipped from the outdoor stage due to the wet surface bruising his left thigh. He sustained no other injuries as previously reported. Sadler was seen by an onsite medical team and left under his own power. He will compete in the scheduled NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events this weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

The 2006 Air Show at Robins AFB was this weekend, and those of us who went got to see the Air Force Thunderbirds perform. Of note, access to the show area went without a hitch that we could see. The Air Force contracted the Houston County school system to provide 107 buses to take spectactors from the parking areas to the flight line, and the Houston system drivers were courteous, professional and friendly.
I wanted to take a moment and say thanks to those drivers, and make sure they were recognized - they gave up their weekends to help make sure that people were moved quickly and efficiently, and they did a fine job of it! Kudos to the drivers of the Houston County school system. You did very well!

In south metro Atlanta, the Clayton County
sheriff's office Cobra Unit dug up the Riverdale yard of a suspected
drug dealer Wednesday and found 15 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
The alleged dealer was arrested in June by Clayton police, sheriff's spokeswoman Sonna Singleton said. Singleton said Cobra officers acted on a tip from a Clayton County Jail inmate.
"The way we obtained the information that led to this drug seizure
only reinforces the need for the sheriff's office to have
investigators, corrections officers and the police working together as
one body to fight crime in Clayton County," Sheriff Victor Hill said.
The officers dug about 2 feet before uncovering 14 containers packed with crystal meth valued at $100,000, Singleton said. |
